Volleyball still undefeated in SLIAC after three set win against Fontbonne

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The volleyball team moved one match closer to an undefeated conference season with a three set win over Fontbonne on Tuesday night. The Panthers defeated the Griffins 25-20, 25-22, 25-22.

Greenville posted a solid opening set with a hitting percentage of .262, their highest of the three sets. In the first set, the Panthers had 16 kills and five errors on 42 attacks. Greenville finished the match with 43 kills and 19 errors in 126 swings, tallying a rate of .190.

The Panthers's Mia Bonacorsi ended with a double-double in the match, collecting a team high 14 kills and 11 digs.

Laneisha Lott reached the double digit mark in kills with 10 in the match, and Kaitlin Murray led Greenville with 20 set assists.

The Panthers saw three players credited with three total blocks. Mia deJesus had GU's only solo block and added two block assists. Lott and Lainey Hicks each had three block assists.

Chasity Hill provided 24 digs to lead Greenville's defense against Fontbonne's attack..

The Panthers (19-6, 13-0 SLIAC) host Webster on Thursday at 7 p.m. in their final home match of the regular season. The Panthers will host the conference tournament on Saturday, Nov. 5.
