Women's volleyball defeated by East Texas Baptist in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. - The women's volleyball team opened their season at Emory and fell in a three-set matchup against East Texas Baptist on Friday. ETBU won 25-15, 25-13, 25-21.

Abby Grohmann paced GU with a team-high seven kills, and GU managed to complete 23 kills in the match.

GU'S hitting performance steadily improved from -.086 in the first set to .216 in the third.

Kaitlin Murray and Emma Ratermann each had 10 assists in the match, and Chasity Hill reached double figures with 12 digs.

Laneisha Lott and Lainey Hicks provided Greenville's only two blocks.

The Panthers (0-1) face Covenant and Centre on Saturday as the Emory tournament concludes.
