Women's cross country drops opening meet at Washington University

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's cross country team posted a 50 point performance against Washington University on Thursday morning at a meet contested at Forest Park and dropped the event 15-50 against the host.

Gretchen Carie had GU's best time, taking a 17th place over the 4.17 kilometer course with a time of 16:51.

Crossing the finish line second for the Panthers was newcomer Brook Shutt with a time of 17:39 for 20th place.

Sedina Logan had a time of 17:59 for 21st place, and Norah Swinigan posted a time of 18:38 in 22nd place at her first GU meet.

Greenville's scoring was closed out by Leah Brown with a time of 18:44 for 23rd place.

The Panthers return to the cross country course on Friday, Sept. 16, at Olivet Nazarene.
