TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The baseball team traveled to Rose-Hulman on Wednesday and came home with a 10-9 win in 11 innings over a team that was a win away from an appearance in last year's NCAA Division III College World Series.

The middle of the lineup was dynamic for the Panthers as Jesse Getz, Shane Olmsted, and Mike Hardin combined for nine hits in 18 at bats.  Getz led Greenville's offense with a four hit night, and Olmsted added three hits.  Hardin came through with two hits.

The Panthers fell behind 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning, but they took the lead with seven runs in the top of the fourth.

Greenville tied the game at 2-2 when an error by the first baseman on a ball hit by Max Gabriel allowed two runs to score.

Getz followed later with a two-run double.

Wild pitches allowed Adam Lamb and Getz to score, and the Panthers got their seventh run when Hardin hit a ball to the centerfielder that resulted in an error.

Rose-Hulman chipped right away at Greenville's 7-2 lead with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and a single run in the fifth.

Greenville made their advantage 9-5 with Olmsted's RBI single and Hardin's RBI double in the sixth inning.

Rose-Hulman forced extra innings with two runs in the seventh inning and two runs in the eighth inning.

After a scoreless 10th inning, Greenville scored the winning run in the top of the 11th on an RBI single by Olmsted.

Reliever Austin Marsh was the winning pitcher as he threw 3.2 innings of scoreless baseball.  He only allowed one hit and two walks while piling up five strikeouts.

Logan Murphy gave Greenville five innings in his start, permitting five runs, three earned, and tallying six strikeouts.

The Panthers (3-5) travel to Florida for their spring break trip that begins with a doubleheader on Monday against Fitchburg State.
