Football dominates Crown with 59-6 win

SAINT BONIFACIUS, Minn. -- The football team returned to the win column with a convincing 59-6 win at Crown on Saturday.  Greenville received three touchdowns and 220 passing yards from sophomore quarterback George Harris as they eased to the win.

Greenville took the opening kickoff and capped it with a 22 yard field goal from Bradley Stubbs for the early 3-0 lead.

Shortly thereafter, Colton Faure grabbed a fumble and returned it 34 yards to give the Panthers a 10-0 advantage after the extra point.

Greenville added another touchdown in the first quarter when Lacey Cain ran the ball two yards for a TD.

Crown got its only points of the game on the first drive of the second quarter, but Greenville bounced back with two receiving touchdowns from Gregoire Franchomme.  The half ended with Greenville leading 31-6.

The Panthers received a 15 yard touchdown run from Cain in the third quarter, and later Harris connected with Franchomme for their third TD reception of the game.

Greenville got a rushing touchdown by Frank Moreno in the waning seconds of the third quarter, and Troy Powers collected a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The Panthers outgained Crown with 558 yards compared to 238 from the Storm.

Isaih Ibarra ran the ball 21 times for 114 yards, and Franchomme had five catches for 123 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, Bryson Johnson was the leading tackler with six in the game.

Gavin Jordan had one and half tackles for a loss of yards, and KeShawn Lacy and Brock Buller posted quarterback sacks.

Greenville recovered two fumbles and had two interceptions.

The Panthers (2-4, 2-3 UMAC) travel to Eureka for a 1 p.m. kickoff next Saturday.
