RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The men's basketball team trailed by double digits at halftime but rallied to take the lead in the second half before dropping Wednesday night's game at Concordia Chicago 119-117.

Kiarie Patrick, Grimmett Glenn, and Malik Johnson - all first year players for the Panthers - led Greenville's scoring efforts. Patrick finished with 24 points, Glenn added 23 points, and Johnson posted 19 points.

Another first year Panther Vincent Rodriguez provided team leading marks with 10 assists and four steals. Ja'Rod Webb also added four steals.

GU fell behind 66-54 at the end of the first half, but the team took a two point lead with a three-pointer by Adrian Alvarez just over five minutes into the second half. The teams traded the lead over the next two minutes before Concordia gained a lead they would not relinquish.

GU cut the deficit down to one point with 1:09 left on the clock, but CC made a free throw with 16 seconds left to increase their lead to two points, and a final three-point attempt by Webb with three seconds to play did not fall.

The Panthers (4-3) will open their SLIAC schedule on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Spalding.
