Men's track and field wins three events at Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The men's track and field team collected event-winning performances from three student-athletes at Monmouth on Saturday.  Nathan Potts (600 meter run), Dylan Goodyear (3000 meter run), and Greg Mitchell (high jump) gained the winning marks in their events.

Potts set a new school record in the 600 with a time of 1:23.46.  He surpassed Treyvon Manning's prior record.

Goodyear won the 3000 with a time of 9:06.08 in Greenville's top event of the day.  Teammate Dylon Niswonger was fifth in the 3000 with a 15-second personal best of 9:25, and Noah Dir was sixth in the 3000 with a lifetime record of 9:35.

Mitchell was Greenville's top athlete of the meet with a winning jump of 2.04 meters (6 feet-8.25 inches) which currently ranks him 13th overall in the NCAA Division III.  He also had an indoor lifetime best in the triple jump with a mark of 13.61 meters (44-7.75).

Bobby Neal had a second place performance in the 200 with a season best of 22.78 seconds.  He was fourth in the 60 with a season best of 7.11 seconds.

John Mangold was second in the 800 with a time of 1:58.09.

David Martin attained a lifetime best in the 60 meter hurdles of 8.93 seconds, and he was fourth.

Qualifying members of the program will participate in the NCCAA indoor national championships on Friday and Saturday on the campus of Cedarville.
