Men's track and field wins SLIAC indoor invitational

ELSAH, Ill. - The men's indoor track and field team won the SLIAC invitational meet at Principia on Saturday, compiling 225 points in the meet.

The Panthers received seven first place finishes that accounted for 70 of their points.

Erick Garcia won the triple jump with a distance of 13.24 meters.

L.C. Washington reached a distance in the shot put of 14.20 meters whihc was good for first place, and Chris Crawford had an attempt of 15.35 meters in the weight throw to take the top spot.

Greenville's 4x200 meter relay comprised of Josh Flounoy, Mahari Holt, Steven Oscar, and Di'Mond Salmond took the first place position in 1:44.02.

Alex Fink provided a first place finish for the Panthers in the 400 meter dash, completing the race in 50.79 seconds.

John Mangold took the top spot in the mile run with a time of 4:26.81 and also competed in the 800 meter run where his time of 2:04.42 was the best.

Dylan Goodyear wrapped up Greenville's first place entries with a time of 9:04.51 in the 3000 meter run.

The indoor season is coming to a close for the Panthers. Their next meet will be an NCAA qualifier for limited participants on March 2 at Wisconsin Stevens Point.
