Davis places 10th in 200 at NCAA Division III nationals

BOSTON, Mass. - The men's indoor track and field program was represented by Jeremiah Davis in the 200 meter dash at the NCAA Division III championships on Friday.

Davis, who entered the championships with the 14th best time in NCAA Division III, was making his second appearance at the D-III indoor nationals.  He qualified as a freshman in 2017.

He was assigned to the second of the five heats in the event and posted a time of 21.99 seconds as he finished third in his heat and 10th overall.  The top eight times advanced to Saturday's finals.

Davis competed in Lane 3 and overcame the unfortunate lane placement to provide the fastest time from that lane in the five heats.

He missed finals by six hundreths of a second.

"[We are] disappointed, but [he] represented us well," said head coach Brian Patton.  "[He] will be hungry as we move towards outdoor."

The Greenville outdoor track and field teams will begin competition on March 23 at WashU in St. Louis.
