Men's indoor track and field opens at Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The men's indoor track and field team opened their 2019-20 season at the Illinois Wesleyan Titan First Chance meet.

The Panthers were led by Jeremiah Davis and Dylan Webster who had second place marks in the 300 meter dash and pole vault, respectively.

Davis posted the best time in the preliminaries of the 60 meter dash, clocking a time of 7.03 seconds, but he did not run in the finals. Davis had a time of 36.04 seconds in his second place 300 meter dash effort.

Webster cleared 4.10 meters to take second in the pole vault, and he posted the third place distance in the long jump with a distance of 6.48 meters.

Di'Mond Salmond provided Greenville with a third place leap in the triple jump as he reached 13.48 meters.

Nate Brown was third in the weight throw with a top mark of 16.04 meters.

Carson Rantanan added a pair of fourth place performances. He was fourth in the 60 meter dash (7.06 seconds) and fourth in the 200 meter dash (23.08 seconds).

Greenville's 4x400 meter relay team comprised of Davis, Jared Beyers, Mahari Holt, and Salmond was fourth with a time of 3:32.18.

Parker Grob added a fourth place distance of 6.45 meters in the long jump, and Brown placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 13.29 meters.

The Panthers will return to the track on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Illinois College.
