Men's track and field receives win from Goodyear at Illinois College, team places first

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The men's track and field team was led by Dylan Goodyear's victory in the one mile run at Illinois College on Saturday and picked up 126.5 points to win the team title.

Goodyear completed the mile event in 4:31.66, finishing four seconds ahead of his teammate Collin Kessinger who was second in 4:35.95.  Four of the top five runners in the mile run were from Greenville.

Di'Mond Salmond, Maurice Radtke, and Nate Brown also posted runner up performances.

Salmond was second in the triple jump with a distance of 13.16 meters.

Radtke took the second place position in the shot put with a mark of 14.03 meters (46 feet) and set a new personal best mark.

Brown was runner up in the weight throw at 16.75 meters, posting a new career standard.

Donovan Graydon made the finals of the 60 meter dash for the first time, collecting a lifetime best mark.  He also set a new career standard in the 200.

Jared Beyers and Alex Fink performed well in the 400 meter dash.

When the final marks were posted, 10 men reached qualifying standards for the NCCAA nationals.  Twenty-nine entries established a new season best, and 16 had the best performance of their lifetime.

The Panthers return to action at Monmouth next weekend.
