Men's track and field places third at NCCAA nationals

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The men's indoor track and field team compiled 101.50 points, finishing third of 17 scoring teams at the NCCAA national championships that were held Friday and Saturday. The host Cedarville earned the national team title with 191 points.

Greenville's Courtney Anderson was the NCCAA national champion in the 60 meter dash, clocking a time of 6.83 seconds. Carson Rantanen was third in the 60 with a time of 6.96 seconds.

Nate Brown was also a national champion, producing an attempt of 17.16 meters (56 feet-3.75 inches) in the weight throw. Ben Schuette gave GU an effort of 14.89 meters (48-10.25) for third place in the weight throw.

Kaleb Carlson recorded a time of 8:55.98, taking third in the one mile run.

Dylan Webster ended with a third place finish in the heptathlon, producing 4343 points and the best finish of the event's competitors in the pole vault.

Wesley Kile also had a third place finish, clearing a height of 4.40 meters (14-5.25) in the pole vault.

Hunter Matthews tied for third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.95 meters (6-4.75).

GU's 4x400 meter relay team composed of Chase LaTouche, Claudio Trevino, James McGinnis, and Jared Beyers clocked a third place time of 3:31.79.

The Panthers will continue their season at Illinois College next weekend.
