Men's track and field records second place at WashU invitational

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's track and field team scored 107 points and placed second at the WashU Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Two individuals and a relay led Greenville's effort.

Wesley Kile set a new school record in the pole vault and took the first place position with a clearing of 4.75 meters.

Colton Rich outthrew all his competitors in the javelin, recording a mark of 50.51 meters to win by over four meters.

GU's 4x100 meter comprised of Ayden Cothern, Kourtland Harris, Chase LaTouche, and Cory Stoll clicked and completed the sprint around the track in 41.88 seconds to take the win.

Austin Ball finished second in the 400 meter hurdles, posting a time of 56.58 seconds.

Cothern contributed a second place showing in the 100 meter dash when he clocked a time of 10.67 meters.

Stoll added a runner-up finish in the long jump, posting a best effort of 6.74 meters.

Blake Thebeau gave the Panthers a second place mark in the hammer throw with an attempt of 47.85 meters.

The 4x800 meter relay of LaTouche, James McMinns, Anthony Clayton, and Jalen Franz placed third with a time of 3:23.22 but recorded eight points.

The Panthers will next compete on April 6 at Illinois College.
