Angel De los Santos joined Greenville University as throws coach for the 2023-24 season. While he may be new to the program, he is in his second decade of coaching.
Coach Angel has trained throwers at the collegiate, high school and private coaching level. Prior to founding his private throws instructional company, Universal Threaux, he coached at his high school alma mater, Valley View High School and at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, both in California.
Since moving to Illinois, he has coached at several high schools and with athletes at all levels.
At both the California and Illinois state track championships, as well as the USATF championships, Coach Angel and his throwers have been common fixtures with several state and national champions to his credit.
De los Santos earned his associate degree in Math and Science from Moreno Valley College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from National Louis University.
Angel and his wife Lia, an accomplished thrower and private throw technician in her own right, currently live in the Metro East area.
