Men's volleyball slowed against Dominican

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's volleyball team was defeated by Dominican in a four set match on Friday night.  The Panthers dominated the first set with a 25-17 win, but they dropped the next three sets 25-21, 25-13, 25-23.

Manuel Benitez produced 18 kills and was able to gain a service ace and block assist as he contributed 19.5 points.

Tanner Smith had five kils in six attacks as he hit at a .833 clip.  Smith also set up Greenville's attack with 32 assists and led Greenville with nine digs.

Johnny Milabu posted an outing with three block assists.

The Panthers hit at a .417 rate in the first set but couldn't hit better than .179 in sets two through four.

The Panthers (3-7, 1-6 MCVL) host Lakeland at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a match against Illinois Tech at 3 p.m.
