Men's volleyball honors five seniors; falls to Mt. St. Joseph

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's volleyball team honored its five seniors in a pre-match ceremony on its Hawaiian Night. Before the match, Greenville recognized seniors Nick Corrigan, Tanner Smith, Peter Binder, Johnny Milabu, and Kyle Ward who have been in the men's volleyball program since the inception of the program in 2016. They were the first class of seniors to complete four seasons of play in the program.

Once the match began, Greenville ended up falling in three sets to Mt. St. Joseph.

The Panthers had trouble putting points away in the first game and ended with 5 kills/3 errors/41 attacks/.049 hitting percentage in a 25-17 opening game loss.

In the second game, the game went extra points, but Mt. St. Joseph managed to come out on top 28-26. Greenville improved to 10/6/37/.108.

In the final set, Greenville ended at 9/3/30/.200 but suffered a 25-17 defeat.

GU closed the match with a line of 24/12/108/.111 compared to the mark of 50/18/112/.286 posted by MSJ.

Nick Corrigan recorded 10 points for the Panthers with seven kills, two service aces, and a solo block.

Logan Dameris posted 15 digs for Greenville, and Smith provided 21 set assists.

At the net, Milabu added three block assists.

The Panthers (12-14, 0-6 MCVL) conclude their home season with a match against Trine on Saturday morning. First serve will occur at 11 a.m.
