PARAGOULD, Ark. - The softball team battled against Crowley's Ridge to earn the doubleheader sweep on Saturday. They took game one 8-1 and game two 7-6. 

In game one, the Panthers scored a run in the top of the first and held the Pioneers to a 1-0 ballgame until the sixth inning. Greenville added two insurance runs in the top of the sixth, but the Pioneers countered them with a run in the bottom of the inning, making it a 3-1 game. However, GU exploded in the next inning, scoring five runs and winning the first game 8-1.

The Panthers were led at the plate by Natalee Moore and Sydnee Garrett. Moore and Garrett had three RBIs each. Moore went 3-for-4, and Garrett went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in the seventh.

Sarah Salas also had an impressive game in the box and in the circle. Salas went 3-for-4 with a two-run bomb in the sixth. She threw a complete game for Greenville, striking out eight batters and only allowing two hits.

Game two ended a little closer than the first, but the Panthers pulled off a 7-6 win. Greenville quickly scored five runs in the first inning and another in the second, but the Pioneers answered with five runs of their own in the bottom of the third inning. Crowley's Ridge tied up the game 6-6 in the sixth inning, but GU triumphed in the top of the seventh after Abby Boland scored on a sacrifice fly from Destiny Dunlap.

Moore and Garrett killed it again offensively, and so did Valerie Greenley. Moore went 3-for-4 again with one RBI and one run. Garrett batted 1.000, going 3-for-3 with three doubles. Greenley led in RBIs with two and a 1-for-3 appearance. 

Greenley started on the rubber for GU, pitching for 2.2 innings. Garrett relieved her in the third inning and received the win. 

The Panthers (23-5) travel back to Arkansas next Saturday to face Lyon College at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
