LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The softball team advanced to the winner's bracket in the SLIAC Tournament with a 4-3 win over Webster in their opening round game.

The Panthers slipped behind 1-0 in the top of the second, and the game remained this way until the bottom of the fifth when the Panthers scored four runs.

Madi Case drove in two runs with a single, and Valerie Greenley later doubled in a pair of runs.

Sydnee Garrett pitched into the sixth inning, working 5.1 innings and only allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits and one walk with three strikeouts.

Melissa Bernal closed the win and collected the save with 1.2 scoreless inning of one hit relief.

The Panthers (32-7) will face Fontbonne on Friday in the second round
