Women's basketball picks up 10 point win over Millikin

DECATUR, Ill. -- The women's basketball team picked up a 82–70 win over Millikin on Saturday evening. Taylor Paulin and Laura Goodnight were the leading scorers with 15 points for Greenville.

Greenville trailed 17-16 after the first quarter, but they recovered to double up Millikin in the second period, taking a 44-31 lead into the halftime intermission.  Millikin cut into the Lady Panther lead in the third quarter, but Greenville bounced back with a 21-16 fourth quarter.

Wesley Woodard and Meredith Crosier each chipped in 12 points for the squad.

Goodnight and Paulin held the top rebounding marks for Greenville with eight and seven caroms, respectively.  Morgan St. James provided seven rebounds.

Greenville's defensive efforts were highlighted by Goodnight with three blocked shots.

Claire Schmitt passed out a team-high four assists.

Greenville improved their ball handling from their previous contest, cutting their turnovers down to 18.

The Lady Panthers produced a 50 percent shooting percentage (27-of-54) and made 5-of-11 three pointers.  The squad was also solid at the free throw line, making 23-of-28.

The Lady Panthers (2-1) host Lincoln Christian on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
