EUREKA, Ill. - The women's basketball team took a 72-59 win at Eureka on Wednesday night to keep their hold on third place in the SLIAC standings. Savana Powell-Goodman led the Panthers with 24 points, and Natalie Iberg provided 17 points.
The Panthers maintained leads at the conclusion of every period, establishing a 13-9 lead after the first quarter and a 36-23 advantage at halftime. Each team scored 21 points in the third quarter and 15 in the fourth period.
Carolina Hoffman joined Powell-Goodman and Iberg with a double figures scoring output as she put 13 points through the hoop.
Alyssa Seymour led Greenville with six rebounds, and Hoffman provided seven assists.
Powell-Goodman kept active defensively with a team-high six steals.
The Panthers (9-7, 6-3 SLIAC) will host Blackburn on Saturday at 1 p.m. in H.J. Long Gymnasium.
