Brett Brannon announced as head women's tennis coach

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- Three-time SLIAC coach of the year Brett Brannon has assumed oversight of both the men's and women's tennis programs at Greenville University beginning with the Fall 2017 season.  He will be assisted by Lexi Baysinger with the women's program and Ian Wolf with the men's program.

Under Brannon's oversight, the men's tennis program collected the SLIAC sportsmanship trophy for four consecutive seasons (2008-11).  The team has finished no lower than fourth in the SLIAC tournament and has played for the SLIAC championship each of the last three seasons (2015-17).

"I'm really excited about this opportunity," said Brannon.  "With our newly renovated tennis complex, and being our first year as a University, this is a great time to be a Panther!  We plan to be challenging for conference championships in the very near future!"

Over the last five seasons, the men's team has gone 66-37 and finished in the top 10 in the NCCAA national poll for three straight seasons.  Brannon has served as head men's tennis coach at Greenville University since 2002.

Still active in competition, Brannon holds an NTRP rating of 5.0, and a UTR rating of 10.3.  Brannon has been ranked number one in men's open singles in the USTA-St. Louis tennis district.

While attending Greenville College, he played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles and earned team MVP two times. He was also a two-time NCCAA first team All-American. During his playing career, he compiled a singles record of 94-24. He graduated from Greenville College in 1997.

He and his wife, Becky, have three daughters - Addison, Emma, and Lauren.
