GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's tennis team opened SLIAC play with a dominating 9-0 win over Principia on Tuesday in Greenville.
GU outplayed Principia in every match and did not drop a set.
Mireia Birosta and Addison Brannon teamed up in No. 1 singles for an 8-0 shutout win.
Claudia Principal and Shaling Reynolds were the winner No. 2 team in an 8-2 match.
In No. 3 doubles, Emily Buratovich and Samantha Siefken gained an 8-2 win.
In singles play, No. 1 Birosta was a 6-3, 6-0 winner, and No. 2 Brannon took her match 6-1, 6-1.
No. 3 Principal collected a 6-3, 6-3 win, and No. 4 Reynolds took a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
No. 5 Buratovich was 6-3, 7-5 in a tight match, and No. 6 Siefken rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win.
The Panthers (6-2) had their match against Westminster on Wednesday postponed, so Greenville will return to action at Webster on April 9.
