Women's tennis secures 6-3 win at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's tennis team scored a 6-3 victory at Illinois College on Wednesday afternoon in a come-from-behind effort.

The Panthers fell behind 2-1 after the round of three doubles matches with only the No. 1 combination of Addison Brannon and Lanie Carder recording a win. Brannon and Carder won 8-7 (7-4).

In singles, Greenville came out on top in five of the six flights.

No. 1 Brannon double-bageled her opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 win.

No. 2 Carder, No. 3 Callie Adkins, and No. 4 Natalia Higashi picked up straight sets wins.

In a pro-set, No. 6 Emily Buratovich Maltbie gained an 8-4 win.

The Panthers (7-6) return to action on Wednesday at Webster in a 4:30 p.m. matchup.
