Women's track and field opens at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's indoor track and field team resumed their season on Saturday at the Illinois College indoor meet.

Seven women's entries reached NCCAA qualifying marks, and nine had the best mark of their career.

Cayden Sharp had lifetime bests in the long jump (second place), 55 meter dash (third), and 55 meter dash (second). She was also sixth in the 200.

Deborah Cunningham ranked second in the weight throw with a career best distance.

Alexa Seger qualified for the finals in the 55 meter dash, and Tawny Rodriguez was in the finals of the shot put. Both women finished sixth.

In addition Savannah Maloney was sixth in the shot put.

Emma Leonhard had a lifetime best in the 3,000 meter run.

The Panthers go to Principia next weekend.
