Women's track and field gains wins from Cunningham and Dyson at Illinois College, takes second place team award

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's track and field team received victories from Deborah Cunningham and Victoria Dyson at the Illinois College indoor meet on Saturday.  The Panthers scored 105 points to place second in the meet.

Cunningham took the victory in the weight throw, posting a distance of 15.07 meters and establishing the best mark of her career.

Dyson won the 800 meter run, finishing in 2:39.60.

A group of four Panthers posted event runner up marks.

Tawny Rodriguez was second in the shot put with a distance of 11.79 meters (38 feet-8 inches).

Charis Costea ended with the second-best mark in the high jump at 1.50 meters.

Cayden Sharp ran to a 9.01 second runner up finish in the 55 meter hurdles, picking up a new lifetime best.  She also placed third in the 200, followed by Haniah Davis in fourth.

Hannah Williams was the second across the finish line in the mile run, posting a time of 5:54.51.

Overall, Greenville accumulated 10 NCCAA qualifying marks.  Additionally, 10 posted season best marks, and nine had their lifetime best performances.

The Panthers will compete next weekend at Monmouth.
