Women's volleyball splits Saturday matches

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The women's volleyball team completed their weekend trip to Franklin with a split of their two matches on Saturday. Greenville lost 19-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-23 to Franklin in the first match and followed that with a 28-26, 26-24, 25-14 win over Anderson.

Abby Freeman put on an astounding display in the first match, ending with 29 kills. She had 49 swings and 10 errors for a hitting rate of .388.

Anna Finch added 11 kills and three errors in 21 attempts to finish at .381. Finch also provided three solo blocks, three block assists, and two service aces to account for 17 1/2 points.

Gretchen Bond provided support on defense with a team-high 14 digs.

Kaitlin Murray added 34 assists.

In the win over Anderson, Freeman led the team with 18 kills, five errors, and 30 attacks to end with a .433 hitting percentage.

Jasmin Smith picked up 12 kills and two errors in 20 attempts while also adding 12 digs.

Murray contributed a team-high 27 assists.

The Panthers (2-5) go to Millikin on Friday for a four-match tournament.
