Women's volleyball wins sixth straight

MONMOUTH, Ill. - The women's volleyball team earned another win on Friday night at Monmouth when the Panthers secured a 25-15, 25-23, 25-13 victory.

The Panthers won their sixth straight match and ninth in 10 matches to improve to 11-7.

The GU attack was paced by Abby Grohmann with 11 kills and two errors in 22 attempts. She finished with a hitting percentage of .409.

Mia Bonacorsi posted a double-double effort for Greenville with 10 kills and 12 digs.

Kaitlin Murray led GU with 16 set assists, and she was followed by Emma Ratermann with 13 set assists.

Bonacorsi and Ratermann provided a solid effort on serve with two service aces each.

On the defensive side, Chasity Hill tied Bonacorsi for the lead in digs with 12.

Blanca Garcia-Quilez posted two solo blocks at the net, and Lainey Hicks had two block assists.

Taryn Russell and Grohmann had a part of two blocks as well with a solo block and a block assist.

GU totaled an overall effort of 39 kills and 21 errors in 124 attacks, posting a hitting rate of .145.

The Panther effort of 14 kills and six errors across 33 attacks in the third set gave them their most efficient set in kill percentage with a mark of .242.

The Panthers will return to action at Fontbonne on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
