Women's volleyball rolls through MUW

GREENVILLE, Ill. - A Homecoming night victory by the women's volleyball team gave GU their fifth straight win and kept them in the top position in the SLIAC standings with six conference matches to play.  Greenville won 25-10, 25-14, 25-11 over MUW in a dominant effort.

A balanced offensive attack resulted in four Panthers reaching 10 or more kills, led by Mia Bonacorsi with 12, Abby Grohmann and Anna Beth Vancil each with 11, and Taryn Russell with 10.

Greenville posted a hitting percentage of .287 in the match with 52 kills and 17 errors in 122 attacks.

Emma Ratermann posted her season high with 28 set assists, and Chasity Hill provided a team high 30 digs in surpassing 2000 digs for her career.

Mia deJesus added an outstanding effort at the net with one solo block and three block assists.

The Panthers (16-8, 11-1) will travel to Eureka for a match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
