Women's volleyball downs MUW in three sets

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team defeated MUW in three sets on Friday night in H.J. Long Gymnasium. GU won 25-10, 25-8, 25-11 for their second win over MUW this season.

Abby Grohmann posted a phenomenal effort for the Panthers on Friday night with 15 kills and only three errors in 31 attacks, finishing with a hitting rate of .387. Grohmann completed a double-double with 11 digs.

Mia Bonacorsi provided a hitting line of 10/3/22/.318 and also converted a double-double with 10 digs. She also tallied four service aces.

Kaitlin Murray and Emma Ratermann led GU in set assists with 18 and 14, respectively.

In the back row, Chasity Hill totaled 27 digs, an average of nine digs per set.

Greenville had four blocks in the match. Bonacorsi helped with three block assists, and Mia deJesus and Lainey Hicks each had two block assists.

The Panthers (18-8, 13-1 SLIAC) will look to clinch the regular season championship and hosting rights for the SLIAC tournament in their matches against Lyon and Spalding on Saturday.
