Women's volleyball stopped by Illinois College in three sets

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team lost a three set match at Illinois College on Wednesday night to snap a winning streak of nine matches. The Lady Blues finished with a 25-18, 25-19, 25-17 win.

Abby Grohmann led GU with nine kills, and Mia Bonacorsi and Anna Beth Vancil each had seven kills.

Greenville experienced difficulties generating offense and finished with 30 kills and 21 errors on 128 swings and a hitting percentage of .007. After posting negative swing percentages in the first two sets, the Panthers improved to a line of 12/6/46/.130 in the final set.

Emma Ratermann provided 15 set assists for the Panthers.

The defense in the back row was led by Chasity Hill with over five digs per set. Hill provided 16 digs.

Vancil, Mia deJesus, Lainey Hicks, and Taryn Russell each had one block assist.

The Panthers (20-9) will go to Westminster for matches on Saturday against Webster at 12 p.m. and Westminster at 2 p.m.
