Women's cross country takes 20th position at NCAA regional

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The women's cross country team raced to a 20th place finish at the NCAA Division III regional hosted by Augustana on Saturday.

The Panthers were led by Olivia Mansfield's 81 point performance as GU collected 554 points overall.  Mansfield completed the six kilometer course in 24:01, taking 83rd place in the race.  She passed the midpoint at 11:38 and finished at a pace of 6:27.

Hannah Williams finished second among Greenville's point producing positions with 100 points, and Gretchen Carie added 109 points.  Williams posted a time of 24:32 in 105th, and Carie ended in 24:45 to take 114th.

Greenville's scoring was completed with 129 points form Emma Leonhard and 135 points from Keiko Palen. Leonhard crossed the finish line with a time of 26:02 in 138th place, and Palen had a time of 26:17 which gave her the 144th place position.

The Panthers completed their cross country season with a second place finish in the SLIAC championships, second in the race at Illinois-Springfield, and third at the Greenville Classic.
