Baseball defeated by Illinois Wesleyan in O'Fallon

O'FALLON, Ill. - The baseball team suffered an 11-0 loss to Illinois Wesleyan in seven innings on Tuesday.

The Titans jumped ahead of the Panthers with a run in the top of the first and scored three runs in the second and third innings to take a commanding 7-0 lead.

The Panthers held IWU off the scoreboard until a four-run seventh inning gave the Titans enough to end the game.

Drew Frey and Landon Mokris picked up a hit for Greenville as the Panthers were limited to just two hits in the game.

Ian Wilson was the starting pitcher and gave up seven runs, four earned, in seven innings as he was tagged with the loss.

Lucas Teel pitched effectively over the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings before loading the bases in the top of the seventh and leaving the game. All three runners scored, and Teel ended with a line of three innings with four hits and three runs permitted. He struck out a pair.

Brexton Beard allowed one earned run in two-thirds of an inning, and Hunter Cullum gave up a hit before recording the final out of the seventh.

The Panthers (0-3) will play at DePauw on Friday in Greencastle, Ind.
