Baseballs falls 8-5 at Covenant

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The baseball team played at Covenant on Friday in the first game of a weekend series. The Panthers fell 8-5 in game one despite carrying a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth.

In Greenville's five run fifth, Landon Mokris mashed a three run homer.

Overall, Dustin Sutton finished 3-for-4 with a run scored and RBI.

Jaxen Gibson worked five innings, holding Covenant to two runs, one earned on three hits.

Chad Plath was on the mound in the seventh when Covenant took the lead, and he was tagged with the loss.

The Panthers (0-7) will stay in Georgia for a doubleheader on Saturday.
