Greenville athletics appoints Kelci Feist to post as spirit program coordinator

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Greenville University athletic department has announced the hiring of Kelci Feist as its new spirit program coordinator.

Feist began her tenure as Greenville University's second full-time spirit program coordinator in 2021 after a stint at Southwestern College in Kansas.

Feist, a native of DeLeon, Texas, has been involved with cheerleading and different forms of dance for well over a decade in the role of athlete or coach.

She has participated and coached in various levels including little league, middle school, high school, All-Star levels two through four, and USA Gymnastics levels two and three. All of this was in addition to her college coaching experience.

She also works with Varsity Spirit Brands during the summers and All-Star season to help run events and camps.

She cheered for four years at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, from 2011-15, while receiving an undergraduate degree in physical education in 2016. During her time at HPU, she won two national championship titles - the Texas College Cheer Championships in 2012 and the Christian Cheer Association in 2013.

In 2019 she received her master's degree in education with a focus in sports management and outdoor recreation from Hardin-Simmons University.

She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Leadership with emphasis in Higher Education from Hardin-Simmons University.

"I am excited to build off such a great program," said Feist. "I want to continue to grow both cheer and dance to be a strong force of both spirit and faith on campus."
