Football dropped at Westminster

FULTON, Mo. -- The football team traveled to Westminster and was defeated 35-14 on Saturday.  Freshman quarterback George Harris did his best to propel the Panther offense with 261 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Westminster jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead as they scored on their first possession of the game.  Later in the first quarter, they added a touchdown and converted a two-point conversion for a 14-0 lead.

The second quarter saw Westminster stretch their lead to 28-0 with two touchdowns.

Greenville closed the scoring in the first half when Harris connected with Monty Sharpe for a 27 yard touchdown.

Midway through the third quarter Harris hooked up with Derek Greifzu for a 14 yard touchdown and cut into Westminster's lead 28-14.

A third quarter 61 yard fumble return by Westminster gave them their final touchdown and a 35-14 win.

In addition to Harris's 261 yard passing performance, Hamid Camara ran the ball 13 times for 92 yards.

Sharpe caught five passes for 104 yards.

Connor Earleywine produced seven tackles for Greenville's defense.

Nicholas Morrow, Kasey Richardson, and Jeremy Howard each had fumble recoveries.

The Panthers (0-4) host Eureka on Saturday at 1 p.m.
