FULTON, Mo. - The football team dropped a 30-22 contest at Westminster on Saturday.
Greenville led 8-7 after the first quarter, but Westminster added a TD to hold a 13-8 advantage at the break.
In the third quarter, the Blue Jays extended their lead by nine points to 22-8, but Greenville scored twice in the final stanza to hold a one-point deficit.
A late 40 yard interception return by Jalen Dowell made the score 23-22, but Westminster tacked on a touchdown with just over a minute to play.
The Panthers received 83 rushing yards from Paul Garrett in the game on 15 carries. Garrett scored a touchdown.
Chase Butterfield completed 14-of-20 passes for 230 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
Seth Logan recorded five receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Greenville's Thomas Linnear paced the defense with a team-high nine tackles.
The Panthers (0-2, 0-1 UMAC) host Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday in Greenville.
