Football falls 27-2 at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The football team faced Lake Forest on Saturday and suffered a 27-2 loss.

The Panthers led 2-0 after the first quarter when they posted a team safety with three seconds remaining in the first quarter.

Lake Forest scored 14 points in the second quarter for a 14-2 lead at halftime, and they posted single touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter.

The Panthers recorded just 214 yards of total offense in the game, and Paul Garrett ran for 110 yards on 32 carries.

Parker Reynolds entered the game as quarterback and completed 5-of-14 passes for 37 yards and one interception. He also ran the ball nine times for 29 yards.

Greenville's defense was led by Lakari Benjamin with seven tackles, and Anthony Esquivel was right behind Benjamin with six tackles, including one and a half accounting for a loss of 14 yards.

The Panthers (1-3) will travel to Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday, April 17 for a return matchup against their week three opponent.
