David Bartlett signs with Greenville University bass fishing

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Aurora Central Catholic High School angler David Bartlett has signed a letter of commitment to fish for the Greenville University Bass Fishing Team. He was joined by his family. Unfortunately GU coaches were not able to accompany David for the signing due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Nonetheless, the team is excited to have David coming to campus in the fall. He brings a wealth of high school fishing experience with him. During his high school career, he has fished FLW High School Opens, the Bass Federation State Series, Illinois Bass Nation, the Bassmaster High School Opens, and the Illinois High School Association events.

This has provided him with experience where many of the lakes the college tournaments occur such as Table Rock Lake, the Mississippi River at Lacrosse, Wis., Lake Cumberland, and Lake of the Ozarks.

"We believe his previous experience has prepared him well for fishing at the collegiate level," said head coach Anthony Macon.

During his time at Greenville University, David plans to study sports management. With nearly all high school and college events cancelled through April and into May, it looks as if the fall college fishing schedule will be quite busy, and Greenville University looks forward to having David as a part of the team for those fall events.

Welcome to the team David!
