Anderson, S.C. - Just two days after finishing their tournament on the Mississippi River, team members Cordell Beckmann and Dru Johnson were back on the road. This time they headed south to Lake Hartwell for the third BASS regional of the year.

Upon arrival, the team knew exactly what to do as far as taking all the proper precautions during the practice days leading into the tournament. Unfortunately, they were very unsuccessful in their practice period to locate the right sized fish to compete for the guarantee two days of tournament fishing and qualifying for the third day.

Even with their struggles, the team went into the first morning, Thursday, Aug. 27, with a lot of confidence and made the most of their opportunities early. They caught a small limit of spotted bass by 9 a.m. leaving them the rest of the day to look for one or two quality largemouth to upgrade their limit of fish. As the day came to an end, no changes were made, and they had to go weigh in which resulted in a weight of three pounds, 11 ounces and putting them in 78th place.

When day two came, the team decided to take a different approach and focus on their key areas and upgrade the fish they knew they were able to catch rather than looking in new areas. They wanted to salvage the tournament and give the team great School of the Year points and not drop any further than they already were.

Going into the last two hours of the tournament, Cordell was able to hook into a quality spotted bass to upgrade their small limit by over two pounds which resulted in a total weight of six pounds and three ounces for a two-day total of nine pounds and fourteen ounces and a 51st place finish out of 115.

The team will have a week off before jumping back into a FLW tournament on the Ohio river and trying to secure the top spot for their School of the Year race over McKendree.
