Seniors pave the way for the newcomers

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. - For the last FLW event of the fall, the bass fishing team found themselves needing freshman to step up to the plate.  Boat captains Cordell Beckmann and Evan Seggerman took along David Bartlett and Trevor Davis to start the week off at the Open, a two-day event that consisted of trying to bring in a five fish limit both days.

With the changing of seasons from summer to fall, it proved to be a difficult time to be fishing on such a body of water like Kentucky Lake. As only the winners of the whole tournament were able to bring in a limit both days of competition. The team of Beckmann and Bartlett still found success skipping under docks and were able to bring in a two-day total of 14-13 and a 15th place finish out of 127 boats.  Beckmann double qualified for the national championships and gave the team a good amount of points for the School of the Year standings.

Team members Seggerman and Davis were sitting just outside the top 20 cut after day one with 7-11 but were unable to match their performance on day two and ended up in 36th place overall with a 9-13 total.

The team only qualified one boat for the 2021 FLW National Championship.
