Bass fishing chases one big fish

Bass fishing chases one big fish

PARIS, Tenn. - As soon as the FLW tournament ended, team members Cordell Beckmann, Trevor Davis, Adam Green, Dru Johnson, David Bartlett, and Mark Burnham got one day to prepare for the Big Bass Bash hosted by the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series (ACA) on the same body of water of Kentucky Lake. This tournament has three to four different weigh-in sessions per day where individuals tried to catch the biggest fish they could and bring it up to the scales during a weigh-in.

Fishing for themselves, they still worked as a team to make sure they brought in two fish from two different individuals to provide them with the most points for School of the Year. Beckmann, Davis, and Bartlett all were able to weigh in a fish during the two days of competition and both Beckmann and Davis won a prize for the fish they brought.

Beckmann finished 42nd overall, weighing in a 2.91, and Davis ended up 51st with a 2.79.

This tournament was a double points event towards the School of the Year race, meaning that the team would receive points from two individuals and not from just one boat.

Going into this event and the FLW open, the team was sitting in third place overall, and from the finishes, the team believes it might slip a little bit but looks forward to three chances to make up for it this fall before taking a break over the winter.
