Men's basketball topped at Buena Vista

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- The men's basketball put 128 points on the scoreboard on Saturday but a 32 point deficit in the second half was too much to overcome as the Panthers lost 142-128 at Buena Vista.

Johari Dix posted a career high 42 points in the game with 14 field goals, including three three-pointers, and an 11-of-13 mark at the free throw line.  Dix also tied teammate Barry Nixon for the team-high with seven rebounds.

Swade Edwards paced the Panthers second unit with 21 points on seven three-pointers, and Josias Parker had the team-high mark with six assists as a member of the unit.

Greenville's defensive effort was led by Barry Nixon with five steals as the Panthers suffocating defense resulted in 31 turnovers by Buena Vista.

GU trailed by an 82-58 score at halftime but recoverd to outscore BVU 70-60 in the second half.  The Panthers never led in the game.

Greenville shot 40 percent in the game with a 42-of-105 effort from the field.  They made 19-of-63 three-pointers and 25-of-35 free throws.  Buena Vista shot a blistering 68.5 percent from the field with 50-of-73 made field goal attempts.

The Panthers (2-3) travel to Eureka on Wednesday, November 29, for their first SLIAC game of the young season.
