Men's basketball falls at Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. - The men's basketball team suffered a 137-129 loss at Eureka on Saturday.

The Panthers held a lead by as many as 15 points in the first half, but the Red Devils closed the game to 65-59 at halftime.

Eureka outscored GU 78-64 in the second half for the win.

Marvin Bateman had a team-high 27 points for the Panthers. Sontiago Grady posted 19 points.

Riley Simmons managed 16 points and six rebounds, while Eric Williams ended with 15 points and four steals.

The Panthers (13-12, 12-6 SLIAC) will compete against Fontbonne on Thursday at Webster in the SLIAC tournament.
