Men's basketball drops contest at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The men's basketball team returned to action after over a month between competitions with a 148-102 loss at DePauw on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers allowed DePauw to carry a 70-44 lead to halftime, and the Tigers outscored Greenville 78-58 in the second half. DePauw was Greenville's first NCAA Division III opponent of the season.

Romello Ball finished as the leading scorer in the game for GU with 15 points on a 5-of-14 shooting effort from the field, including a 2-of-6 mark behind the three-point line.

Ralph Jalnaiz and Henry Johnson each provided 13 points.

Greenville's pressure resulted in 24 Tiger turnovers, and the Panthers captured 14 steals. Julius Erby tallied four of GU's 14 steals.

The Panthers (0-5) travel to Michigan on Friday, Jan. 22, for a game in Ann Arbor against Concordia before a game against Free Methodist sister college Spring Arbor on Saturday.
