Men's basketball drops contest at Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The men's basketball team suffered a 135-101 loss at Concordia (Mich.) on Friday afternoon.

The Concordia squad led nearly start to finish as the game slipped away from Greenville early. Concordia led 14-9 when they called their first timeout just five minutes into the game and steadily increased their advantage throughout the game.

Concordia was up 63-47 at halftime and later held an advantage of 43 points before settling for their 34 point margin of victory.

Kenneth Cooley had an outstanding offensive performance for the Panthers, making 12-of-16 shots from the floor, and ending with a team-high 26 points. He had 14 points in the first half and 12 points in the second half.

Romello Ball joined Cooley with a double-figure scoring effort with 16 points. Phillip Curtis posted 14 points, and Henry Johnson recorded 12 points.

Additionally, Ball filled up the stats sheet with seven assists and five steals.

Johnson and Dustin Bankowski were GU's leaders with five rebounds.

The Panthers (0-6) stay in Michigan to play at Spring Arbor on Saturday at Noon CT/1 p.m. ET.
