Men's basketball establishes season-high 124 points in loss at Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The men's basketball team achieved a season-high 124 points at Spring Arbor on Saturday afternoon, but they dropped the contest to the Cougars 148-124.

The Panthers trailed 69-56 at halftime, but a surge in the first five minutes of the second half reduced the SAU lead to one point. With 14 and a half minutes to play, Spring Arbor held a narrow 83-82 advantage.

The Cougars steadily increased the lead over the remaining minutes of the second half, keeping the Panthers from taking a lead.

Ralph Jalnaiz finished as Greenville's top scorer with 24 points. Jalnaiz made 10-of-14 shots, including 3-of-5 three-pointers, and converted his only free throw attempt.

Kenneth Cooley recorded 20 points for the Panthers, Kameron Vinsel had 17 points, and Travis Dickey tallied 16 points.

Phillip Curtis achieved a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Panthers (0-7) do not have anything officially scheduled until conference play begins on February 24, but the coaching staff is actively engaged in finding additional opponents to fill their season slate.
