Men's basketball suffers loss at Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's basketball team struggled to get on track in a 137-119 loss at Fontbonne on Saturday night.

Fontbonne held a 66-57 lead over Greenville at halftime, and the Griffins outscored the Panthers 71-62 in the second half.

Ralph Jalnaiz led a group of seven Panthers who reached double figures in the scoring column with 18 points in the contest.

Dustin Bankowski and Kameron Vinsel each added 14 points for Greenville, and Phillip Curtis and Henry Johnson had 13 points.

Tyler Jelks totaled 11 points, and Kenneth Cooley ended with 10 points.

Bankowski helped the Panthers with seven assists and six steals.

Jelks, Cooley, and Curtis all had team-highs with seven rebounds.

The Panthers (1-8, 1-1 SLIAC) host Westminster on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in H.J. Long Gymnasium.
