Men's basketball wraps up Georgetown tournament with 155-109 setback

GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The men's basketball team finished their Thanksgiving week tournament with a 155-109 loss to their host Georgetown in the second day of the Georgetown tourney.

GU's Cam Irvin was Greenville's top scorer with 19 points on 6-of-14 field goals, including a mark of 3-of-10 behind the three point line. He also knocked down 4-of-6 free throws.

Greenville's season leading scorer Kenneth Cooley recorded 18 points, just below his pregame scoring average of 18.4 points through five games.

Kaidyn Johnson had 15 points in the game, and Romello Ball and Chris Jackson each added 12 points.

GU's leading rebounder was Carlos Crespo with six, and Ball paced GU with six assists.

Travis Dickey collected a team-high three steals.

The Panthers trailed 71-51 at halftime and were outdistanced 84-58 in the second half. GU never led in the game.

The Panthers (1-7) are off until Dec. 13 when they travel to Wisconsin for a pair of games against institutions in the UW system - Stout and Whitewater.
