Men's basketball falls by six points at Wisconsin Stout

STOUT, Wis. - The men's basketball team led 62-59 at halftime and held a 100-99 lead with a little over nine minutes to play before Wisconsin Stout closed the game on a 26-19 run to take a 125-119 win on Monday night.

The Panthers' three-point shot attempt by Kaidyn Johnson with 19 seconds remaining would have cut the deficit to one, but the shot was off target and Stout collected the rebound. The Blue Devils were immediately fouled and converted both free throw attempts to seal the win.

Romello Ball led Greenville in the scoring column with 19 points. He made 8-of-18 shot attempts, including 2-of-7 three pointers, and a free throw.

Travis Dickey led GU's second unit with 18 points, and Cam Irvin posted a 16 point performance before fouling out.

Kaidyn Johnson provided Greenville with 13 points, and Kenneth Cooley and Jarred Johnson each had 12 points.

Chris Jackson added a team-high 11 rebounds, and Ball was the leader in assists with six helpers.

The Panthers forced Stout into committing 37 turnovers. Trenton Lee paced Greenville with four steals, and Ball, Everett Campbell, and Jackson each had three steals.

Greenville (1-8) will travel to Wisconsin Whitewater for a game on Tuesday night before taking off for Christmas vacation.
