Men's basketball suffers 154-123 loss at Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's basketball team played a tight first half with Saturday's opponent, but Fontbonne scored 90 points in the second half to defeat GU 154-123 on Saturday afternoon.

The teams entered halftime with Fontbonne on top by two, 64-62, but the Griffins outpaced Greenville 90-61 in the second half.

Romello Ball finished as the Panthers leading scorer with 25 point. He sank 11-of-19 field goal attempts, including 2-of-6 three pointers and 1-of-2 free throws.

Cam Irvin and Jarred Johnson each ended with 15 points for the Panthers, and Everett Campbell posted 13 points.

Carlos Crespo netted 12 points, and two Panthers Travis Dickey and Kaidyn Johnson each scored 11.

Crespo was Greenville's top assist man with eight, and Ball had a team-high nine rebounds.

The Panthers (1-14, 0-4 SLIAC) will host Westminster on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in H.J. Long Gymnasium.
